Durez Canada

  • The Durez plant was built in 1970 and is now part of the SBHPP (Sumitomo Bakelite High Performance Plastics) division owned by Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd head quartered in Tokyo, Japan
  • The plant manufactures phenolic resins and phenolic moulding compounds. These products are used by customers to produce automobile brake linings, brake pads, water pumps, clutch facings, grinding wheels, abrasive papers, and has many other applications in appliance and electrical industries.
  • The plant presently employs 70 operators, skilled trades and technical and clerical personnel.
